Classic Marvel-Colossus

This is for my Little Brother TJ, his favorite X-men from back in the day was Colossus.. and since I promised them 1 of each, an X-men character turn and an Avengers Character turn, this is what I am doing for them..

So Merry X-Mas Bros!

There is a certain Simplistic Genius in the early design of Colossus.. it is his colors..he has red, and yellow costume, and in every early comic I have seen him, his metal skin has a blueish tint.. in a subtle way, he represents Superman's colors.. which is cool because of his super strength and the whole man of steel thing..

what a Genius and Brilliant yet subtle thing!! So in my design I made him a slight blueish tint..

If I did more X-men, each back ground will be different in color, just as the interior of the Avengers "A" Logo on the Character Studies would also be different colors..

This is a work in Progress, and though it is only the front side, the rest will follow soon..

The reason I am doing these based on the classic Marvel universe is simple.. it is just the best Marvel ever was! The 1980's were a great decade for Marvel, Chris Claremont, Marc Sylvestri, John Byrne, Steve Ditko and more.. they really brought Marvel to life in a huge way..Great Stories, and great Art..No Bone Claws, and no cheesy deaths and rebirths or confusing time travel fixes needed to adjust continuity, they really understood their universe..

Today's Marvel comics books may have exciting new art and techniques to produce interestingly realistic coloring, and such..special effects, and what not..

but there is just something to be said for the classic look, it just worked.. much like Black and white and a certain face style work for Manga.. comics should be like they once were in my opinion.. bright colorful, not too realistic in their art, but very grounded in their stories..

Anyways, I will update this as I go along.. wait till you see colossus action pose, it will rock!! Literally!!
